Here are some of the countless examples of the success experienced by TutorWorks Students. Michala and Melchiah are being raised by their grandmother. Michala is in the 2nd grade and Melchiah is in the 3rd grade. Their grandmother signed them up for TutorWorks because she wanted them to keep up on their studies in a challenging learning environment. Since being in the program they have improved on homework and need less help. Both are Honor Roll students and liked the TutorWorks experience because it is “fun and exciting” and they “like to be challenged.” Michala and Melchiah both excelled in the TutorWorks program and were working on material that was 1 and 2 grade levels above their current grade levels. |

Ruby Perez is a 3rd grader at Walsingham Elementary. Ruby was having problems with homework and her mother was unable to help her with her homework. When they heard about the TW program they signed up immediately so that Ruby could get the help she needed. Ruby’s grades improved and her last report card showed four Bs and one A. Ruby said she loves to do math on the computer. Ruby was so enthusiastic about the program that although she was in session one she would stay for all three sessions to work on her homework or to do additional skill building on any computer that might be available. When James was seven, he moved from China to the United States with his parents. James is a 6th grader. His parents have high expectations for him and they signed him up for TutorWorks. They hope that James can be more concentrated with his school work in such a challenging and encouraging learning environment. James is a really good student in TutorWorks. Since participating in the program, James has made significant improvement on his homework. Not only did he excel in his language arts class, he jumped up two grades (GPA) in his math class. James enjoyed being in the program because he had “big support from the staff and other students in TutorWorks.” |
