We have developed our model for delivering high quality tutoring services based on 20 years of experience in the supplemental educational services field, and have focused on the rigorous evaluation of student outcomes and refinement of program design. 

 
 

TutorWorks time consists of 45-90 minutes of literacy or math reinforcement activities using our highly effective computer-aided curricula Study Island and Explode the Code Online.  A minimum of one staff member supervises 6 students.  During this time program staff act as academic coaches, providing academic assistance, one-on-one tutoring and encouragement as needed.  Also during this time credentialed teachers pull students out to work one-on-one or in small groups around structured mini-lessons that address specific areas of weakness. 

Students are given constant feedback on their progress.  Daily personal and cooperative motivational objectives for students are supported through our ribbon board team competitions and awards ceremonies. Our classroom management system provides clear instructional and motivational objectives for students on a daily basis.  The result is a strong, well managed intervention program.

Data Driven Instruction Supporting Teachers’ Classroom Priorities
The Study Island assessment is a supplemental criterion- based formative assessment program for California and Florida State Content Standards. The test bank consists of thousands of questions that are aligned with each of the the State Standards. Study Island provides a highly structured curriculum based on mastery-learning principles.  Students use the Study Island curriculum daily both independently and working one-on-one and in small groups with a credentialed teacher.
